Films: Lobster Man from Mars (1989)
Alias: Lobsternus Horrificus
Type: Alien
Location: Haunted home/Forest/Civilized area/Cave
Height/Weight: That of an average human.
Affiliation: Evil
Summary: The following is actually from a film within a film. It is a premise so ridiculous that it could only flop in the eyes of movie executives. But it sure is an interesting ride.
History: Stevie Horowitz's film premise is this: The underground people of Mars are suffering a shortage of oxygen, and they need a place to get more. So they pick Earth for a takeover. To do this, they send their finest soldiers. Namely, Mombo the discount Ro-Man and the Lobster Man, a cold-blooded mutation with no other desire than to kill.
Notable Kills: Nothing special.
Final Fate: After Mombo is killed by engine coolant, the Lobster Man is fooled into standing right over Old Faithful, which burns him to nothing as his previous victims re-materialize. Stevie's premise is ironically a big hit with the public.
Powers/Abilities: Comes with a ray gun that reduces people to bone.
Weakness: Extreme heat.
Scariness Factor: 3.5-For such a tongue-in-cheek b-movie, this is one grotesque alien. Its malformed face and raspy voice make it an unsettling sight, even if its chosen company is the exact opposite in fright.
Trivia: -Orson Welles of all people came up with this movie's title, and was even willing to be in it had it not been for his untimely demise.
-What was the reward for the cast and crew when the film was said and done? An expensive lobster dinner, fittingly enough.
